Shooting Brittany Oldehoff was a terrific experience in Miami Beach.  Art Direction by Jarmo; MUA by Mary Alejo.

Shot in ambient reflected light using two large, 4′x8′, white reflectors camera right and camera left, with the model in the shade against a white wall.  The camera was about 6″ off of the floor level.  This will give your the model even longer looking legs.

Cheers,

Wardrobe and Headshots

Posted by:

Many times we get caught trying to tell a client what to wear and not to wear for a headshot.  I have been there many times myself and finally have come to a couple things that I prefer.

1.) Jewelry. Don’t wear it, I find that it is distracting in the final image. We want to see the person not what they are wearing.  It will suggest a personality type or status.  As an actor, if you want to portray a ...

Managing the Sun using Silks and Reflectors

This image was taken in the Bahamas. It was for David Meceys Fantasy Foto Camp Pro Challenge.  Our assignment was to shoot a travel ad image.  This image won first place.

I remember choosing the out fit, I wanted something that wasn’t too risqué, something that would appeal to the average person. The others in the challenge were selecting sexier clothes. this would be fine if the image was going ...

To Shoot or Not to Shoot Inked Girls

Posted by:

Recently I was reading a discussion about shooting models with ink.  This falls  into the category of personal taste or for a specific project.  This image was shot and published in “Inked Girls Magazine”.  Trisha is a great model to work with and has a face of an angel. Her ink is beautiful to look at and so this worked for a specific genre of photography.  Without question she ...

Creating Mood with a Look and Prop

Posted by:

Todays post is of Mistress Alexia (stage name) shooting a hi-key image.  Choosing the right model is key in creating a mood.  Here Alexia with the look in her eye gives you “the look” that can cause you to melt. With the prop in her hand this takes on a whole new meaning.

This was shot using three heads. Two directly behind her shooting through white plexiglass.  Then a ring ...
