The elinchrome zoom spot that I use has leafs in the unit that allow me to cut the light in interesting ways. The spot was the main light and just to camera left I used and large soft box to bring up the levels lighten up the dark pink edges. Many times we get caught trying to tell a client what to wear and not to wear for a headshot. I have been there many times myself and finally have come to a couple things that I prefer.
